This is
an important book for anyone interested in Ufology and the paranormal. I found
this book straightforward and to the point, without any extra language than was
needed. And this is fine, because here, in this context, the book is not trying
to be literature or believe it or not, really memoir, at least not as
traditionally thought of and wrought. Sparks is speaking about his encounters
with what is an off world presence or beings. This is not for people interested
in say, books by Nicolas Sparks, and it is not for people interested in the
work of William Faulkner or Dostoevsky. I feel that Sparks can’t help but come
off as genuine because he is genuine. The book relates a series of wildly
interesting experiences that touch on the possible future of humanity
nonetheless. Highly readable and full of real life ‘science fiction.’ I think
there is a sad phenomenon that occurs where sometimes things that are honest,
informative, and right there, become overlooked in a climate of pessimism or
over-rationality. I think this is perhaps what has or will happen to this work.
Yet, in time, maybe in the distant future, (though its message is urgent),
people will discover this book and it will be published in a more widespread
manner for more to read and know about. Good work by Jim Sparks, a tough,
no-nonsense, and brave soul, in relating his story to the larger world.
RATING 7/10
